Vols. 5-6 were nearly completed at the time of the death of Miss Hemenway, and v.5 was published by her sister, Mrs. Carrie E.H. Page. The ms. of v.6 (Windsor county) came into the possession of William P. Baxter of Chicago, who collected a great amount of additional material. After his death all this was burned in the destruction of the home of his niece, Miss Janette Baxter, of Jackson Springs, North Carolina. cf.
